Rio Americano High School’s student government is proving that leadership goes beyond the classroom. On Oct. 28, the student government hosted a campus blood drive, an event fully organized and led by students dedicated to making a difference in their community.

From Oct. 30 through Nov. 3, Encina High School and Mira Loma High School hosted their annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations.

Students across the district’s K-8, middle and high schools were invited to attend the event organized in partnership with Black Students of California United (BSCU).

San Juan Unified School District Superintendent Melissa Bassanelli recently received a medical diagnosis that requires her to take a medical leave of absence. During her absence, Chief of Staff Trent Allen will serve as the primary point of contact.

During the 2024-25 school year, select San Juan Unified School District teachers and students participated in a program to evaluate two generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools for students. As a result of the evaluation of these tools, San Juan Unified has purchased a license for Magic Student for grades 2 and above.

San Juan Unified  is seeking student, family and staff input on proposed instructional materials now through Dec. 17.
